Dynamically calculate a price
Previously we have set fixed prices for the Roadmaster 100, such as the €10,000 on the root feature and €100 for the left side door. But within Elfsquad you can also set dynamic prices. Based on the input of a user or a calculated value you can calculate a different price.
The price of a feature is calculated in Elfsquad CPQ by multiplying the price of the feature with the quantity of a feature. By default the value of a selected feature is 1.
Feature price * quantity = Calculated price
The quantity of a feature can be adjusted with a fill-in field or with a calculated value.
Calculating the surcharge for the length
For the Roadmaster 100 we want to calculate a surcharge for the length of the cargo hold. We want to charge €1,- per millimeter. The feature length has a fill in field which determines the quantity of the feature. So at a length of 5000mm the quantity of the feature length is 5000.
The only thing we have to do in this case is to set the price of the feature length to €1,-. This is done by opening the feature, scroll down and fill in the value 1.
Now go back to the preview of the Roadmaster 100. There you can see that the price of the feature Length is €5.000,-. This value is also added to the total price of the Roadmaster 100. If you now change the length to for example 6000mm you will see that the price of the feature is changed to €6.000,- and the total price of the feature is also increased.
