1.2 - Relationships & Constraints

In this video, we’ll cover Elfsquad’s second core concept: Relationships and Constraints. These two elements add intelligence and precision to your product configurations, ensuring smooth customer experiences and accurate selections.

• Relationships define how features interact within a configuration. For instance, you can set up Optional features (choose as many or as few as desired), Mandatory features (always selected), Alternative features (only one choice allowed), or OR features (at least one selection, with the option for more). 

• Constraints bring logic across different feature groups, ensuring compatibility. Examples include:

  • Required: another feature must be selected.
  • Exclude: a feature can’t be chosen if another is selected.
  • Conditions: availability depends on multiple variables, offering flexibility beyond simple yes-or-no choices.
