Quotation Templates can get very Confusing sometimes. With all the references, repetitions and design choices. You can lose track of all that needs to be done. In this lesson, we’re going to dive into some situations what other customers have encountered in the past.
Show specific configuration model on quotation
In some cases you want to show information from a specific model in a table on your quotation. If this model is not on your quotation you don't want to see the table on your quotation either.
For Example: There are two models for the configuration of door. In configuration model 1 additional options can be selected. In configuration model 2, these options cannot be chosen.
On your quote, you want to see the following table if you have selected options.
We’ve created a new configuration model for this. Within this model we’re going to create a trigger feature in configuration model 1. On this trigger feature you set a condition that the trigger only appears if you have chosen options. Don’t forget to check the checkbox for children.
Next we’re going to create 2 categories.
-
In the first category, for example Options_Door, you put the options (doorbell and Surveillance camera).
-
In the second category, for example Options_Trigger, you put the trigger feature.
Go to the template to show you how to set up your template. Don’t forget to download the XML scheme and to add it to the XML mapping of the word document.
- Get the placeholders description, quantity and UoM under configuration --> category options.
- Then set a repeat over the rule from configuration --> category options.
- Then repeat the entire table first on configuration --> category options trigger and then on configuration
This principle also applies if you do not want to show the table with options (and therefore its table headings) in the quotation when no options are selected.
Now create a new quotation. You will see, if you’re configuration model has a extra option selected, the quotation will show this in a Table. If not, the table is not visible at all. In this way you can show a specific configuration model on a quotation.
This is one specific Example of what you can do with Quotation Templates. On our documentation page you can find tips and tricks and much more explanations on how to resolve different situations. With those, you can create more complex Quotation Templates.
