6.8 - Uploading 3D models - 3D Visualizations

In this lesson we will add a 3D model to our Configuration Model for a Table. To add the 3D-visualizations, you will need 3D objects. These can be found in this link:

Upload 3D model

To upload a 3D visualization to your Configuration model, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the 'Step Editor'.

2. Open the Table model there.

3. Add a new step, call it 'Step 1'.

4. In the step type, select 3D.

5. Save the step.

Upload 3D file

1. Upload the entire 3D file which you can download from the link above. Do not unzip this file, you upload it in its entirety. After you have uploaded the model, you must select the Root 3D object (all other 3D objects are attached to it).

2. In "Step 1," click "Upload a 3D model.

3. Then select the file you downloaded above.

4. Click on 'Upload 3D model'.

5. In the window that appears you can specify the Root 3D object. Select the root object 'Table Configuration.iam'.

6. The model will now be uploaded and may take a few minutes.
