Creating a quotation
We start in the Order Entry and configure a Roadmaster 100. After going through all the steps and clicking a few options, we click on Create Quotation.
A new screen opens where we can enter data. If we scroll down we can see the configuration we just created with the total price of the quotation. At the top, we see our own name as the sales rep for the Elfsquad Carroserie Group, as we set up in part 2. At Customer, we select the customer account that we created in the assignment in chapter: 4.2 CRM accounts.
In the Details section in the Quotation, we can add some more information about the Delivery Date, Subject and Reference Numbers. At the end of the page, we can see the configuration we just configured. At Template you can select your quotation template, we will discuss this in more detail in a follow-up training. For now, we will leave it unchanged. If we click on the document in the top right corner, you can choose to generate the document as a PDF or print it as a Docx document. For now, click on 'Generate PDF' and a Quote document will appear. In this document, we see all the rules from our configuration printed on a document.
We can now choose to submit our quote, by clicking Submit. If you do not see this button, then this means that you do not have all the permissions to submit quotations. You being a main user allows you to change these permissions yourself. This is done by going to Users in the left menu and clicking on the hammer behind the correct user. We can choose from four options:
-
Submit quotation
-
Accept quotation
-
Decline quotation
-
Verify quotation
We check all these options and go back to our quotation. We can now Submit the quote. The quote will be set to Pending and we will no longer be able to change any of the data.
Assignment
Our customer still wants to change something about the quote, create a revision and reject the current quote. Change some data in the revision and see if you can change the configuration. Submit the revision.
