The Filter Selection
If you want to exclude many features it can be a lot of work. You can do this with a Filter Selection, which works the same as an Exclude but is very useful if you want to exclude a lot of features.
With a Filter Selection you only select the features (on a certain level) that you want to be visible. The other features are not shown.
Setting up Filter Selection
In our training we work with a limited number of Features because it would be a lot of work to create all of them. But the effect is exactly the same if you apply this to multiple Features.
-
Create a Feature called Tires by clicking on the plus sign of Roadmaster 100.
-
Give this Feature the relationship type Mandatory
-
Drag the Feature so that it is between the features toolbox and Wheel caps.
-
Under the Feature Tires, add the Features: Tire 1 and Tire 2, both with the relationship type Alternative.
-
Click on the fourth digit behind Tire 1.
-
In the window that now appears select Wheel cap 1 to 3.
-
Click on "save".
Assignment
Now set up another Filter Selection for Tire 2 where Wheel cap 4 through 6 are selected.
