21.3 - Customization: Quotations

Business Central allows a lot of Quotations Customization options. These Customization options allow you to send over all the necessary information that suits your Business flow. In this chapter we will look into these Customization possibilities.

Oppurtunity BC -> Elfsquad Quotation

Business Central streamlines the process of generating quotations directly from opportunities within the system. All essential quotation details are automatically synced via Business Central. Upon accessing an opportunity, users can easily open the creation of an Elfsquad quotation by simply clicking a designated button. If all required fields are accurately filled, a new quotation is generated in Elfsquad seamlessly.

Additionally, users have the option to access the newly created quotation in Elfsquad with a simple click on the "open in Elfsquad" button. This action redirects them to Elfsquad, where the quotation is readily available for review. It's worth noting that the opportunity number filled in the quotation property is configured within the Elfsquad setup in Business Central, ensuring consistency and synchronization between the two systems.

Elfsquad Quotation -> BC Quotation 

After adding a configuration to the Elfsquad Quotation and changing the status to ‘Accepted’ in Elfsquad, all accepted quotations are loaded into the quotation buffer as an ‘in-between check’. (The status is manageable through Elfsquad Setup)

Remarks Properties and Discounts

Based on Elfsquad setup Remarks Properties & Discounts are transferred to the quotation buffer too. Properties and discounts need custom configuration to link them to the correct setup in Business. A main reason to not automate this part is that especially discounts need closer attention for VAT purposes.

After processing the quotation buffer a Sales Quote is created into the business central system. If custom processing is needed, publisher are available for this process functionality. As manufacturing often have their own specifications, everything is already available in the quotation buffer, but is individual processable if needed. Only If the standard functionality would not fit the needs.
